Fractional Governance Advisory
Experienced governance support, adjusted to actual needs
Fractional Advisory provides experienced governance coordination and management support, including while a permanent internal role is being established. I regularly support management and governance owners with priorities, decisions and the practical development of AI governance.
When is fractional advisory appropriate?
Senior experience is needed now
Important governance decisions are due, while a permanent leadership role is unfilled or not yet economically justified.
Several initiatives need shared direction
AI use cases, functions and programmes are developing in parallel and need consistent priorities and decision-making.
The operating model needs to mature
Roles and processes have been defined but still need to become stable in daily operations and effective in management discussions.
Internal owners need a sounding board
An existing leader or governance function needs experienced support with complex decisions, stakeholders and implementation challenges.
My contribution
Management support
Prepare and assess key decisions, risks, trade-offs and escalations.
Governance coordination
Coordinate central governance topics, track actions and maintain a consistent approach across functions.
Portfolio and governance bodies
Structure decision papers, facilitate relevant governance forums and provide a transparent picture of progress and action required.
Operating model and AIMS
Develop roles, processes, controls and management routines based on practical experience in the organisation.
Build internal capability
Coach internal owners and support an orderly handover to a permanent governance or leadership function.
A reliable working rhythm
We agree a recurring engagement with clear priorities, review dates and a level of support that matches actual needs. More intensive work may be required during initial build-up, material changes or incidents; routine operations may need a lighter, reliable cadence.
Three to five days per month can provide an initial planning reference. They are not a fixed package or a universal requirement. Scope depends on the AI portfolio, risks and internal capabilities. Larger or higher-risk environments may require a dedicated internal team.
At the outset we agree objectives, decision rights, contacts and expected outcomes. Regular management updates make progress, risks and next decisions visible. Accountability remains with the organisation; an operational interim role is agreed separately if required.
What improves
Better-prepared governance decisions, clearer priorities and consistent follow-up across functions and initiatives.
An operating model that becomes more reliable through practical application and a structured transition to internal ownership.
Continuity as needs change
Fractional Advisory connects strategic direction with ongoing implementation. Engagements are available from 2 November 2026.
